Built to Meet Germany’s Confidentiality Standards
Cyberus is working with the BSI to accredit its hypervisor for VS-NfD — a formal German accreditation level used to protect sensitive information in public sector and critical infrastructure. This accreditation is key to enabling secure, sovereign virtualization for government, defense, and regulated industries.

Towards BSI-Certified Virtualization for Sensitive Government Use

Cyberus Technology maintains a close and active exchange with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Germany’s central authority for cybersecurity in government and critical infrastructure.

Our Cyberus Hypervisor is currently undergoing the BSI’s accreditation process for VS-NfD — short for "Verschlusssache – Nur für den Dienstgebrauch". This is a formal German classification level for information that, while not strictly secret, still requires protection from unauthorized access. It is commonly used in government agencies, defense-related projects, critical infrastructure, and any environment where confidentiality, integrity, and trust are paramount.
To be approved for use in VS-NfD contexts, software must meet rigorous technical and procedural requirements defined by the BSI. These cover secure development practices, minimal attack surface, isolation capabilities, and long-term maintainability. For a hypervisor, this means it must enforce strict separation between workloads, resist modern attack techniques, and provide full auditability — all while remaining performant and compatible with real-world workloads.

Accreditation at this level enables our hypervisor to be deployed in highly regulated environments such as federal IT systems, secure public cloud offerings, and national defense-adjacent applications. It is a milestone in our broader mission to build sovereign, trustworthy infrastructure for Europe’s digital future.
